All public safety personnel, including off duty police officers, and executive protection agents, are required by law to carry and maintain a guard card.
This is the California State required class required before any person can work a security guard post. This includes off duty law enforcement officers, both federal and state. This course will teach students the skills necessary to apply for a guard card with the Department of Consumer Affairs - Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS). Proof of I.D (passport or driver license).

A certificate of completion will be awarded upon completion of the modules.
This Module D course is required by BSIS in order to renew your CA guard card.
The continuing education requirement, of an additional 8 hours pursuant to Business and Professions Code Section 7583.6(f) (1), commenced on January 5, 2005.
When you receive your renewal guard paperwork from BSIS, it states that you need 8 hours of continuous education in order to renew. This Module D course will suffice the requirement. Once the course is completed, you will download your certificate. Send a copy of the certificate to BSIS along with your guard card application.
